I have been coming to the Philippines since October 2008 and have been surprised by the number of people here who earn less than 7000 pesos in a month. Well! that is around 140 US dollars every four weeks. Can you imagine that cash amount would not even fill your 8 cylinder jeep for 10 days in the US let alone Australia too.
Most Philippinos or Filippinos do extras work to supplement income. Their main job or business maybe working as a teacher and after work they may do part time selling of health products, insurance or even real estate in their own homebasedbusiness.

I have travelled through the islands of Luzon and Cebu and have found that in Cebu City, Manila, Baguio City and in Vizcaya, people are open to home based business opportunity or opportunities. They are prepared to grab anything that could give them hope to a better future. It is harder in the provinces though the cost of living is lower.
I have found that in the Philippines, people are open to selling and sales is just part of their existance. Most people will look at the potential especially if the opportunity will give them the hope to add extra flow of money to their current employment.

By the way with the Global meltdown at the moment, people are finding it hard to find jobs. Why? Overseas works are returning back to the Philippines having been made redundant in their lucrative employment abroad. I have seen young graduates not finding jobs after completion of their studies in Baguio. The same could be said about cities such as Zamboanga, Cebu City and Manila.
There are many companies in the Philippines that are PhilippinesBased which offer people part time work, where they can work independently at their house earning more pay or revenue to add to the monthly salaries.
